Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using this website or booking any expedition services offered by ash-caribou, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services or website.

Service Description

ash-caribou provides guided walking expeditions across various British landscapes. Services include:

  • Single-day walking routes with professional guides
  • Multi-day expedition packages
  • Educational interpretation of natural and cultural landscapes
  • Safety equipment and emergency support

Route details, difficulty ratings, and inclusions are described on individual service pages. We reserve the right to modify routes due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

Booking and Payment

Booking requests submitted through this website constitute an inquiry, not a confirmed reservation. Confirmation is provided via email within 24 hours, subject to availability.

Payment terms:

  • Full payment is required at least 7 days before the scheduled expedition date
  • Accepted payment methods will be specified in booking confirmation
  • Prices are displayed in GBP and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
  • Prices may change without notice, but confirmed bookings are honored at the quoted rate

Cancellation and Refunds

Customer Cancellations:

  • More than 14 days before expedition: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
  • 7-14 days before expedition: 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days before expedition: No refund

Provider Cancellations:

If we cancel an expedition due to weather, insufficient bookings, or other operational reasons, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule without penalty.

Participant Responsibilities

By booking an expedition, you confirm that:

  • You possess the physical fitness required for the selected difficulty level
  • You will disclose any medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate safely
  • You will follow guide instructions and adhere to safety protocols
  • You will bring appropriate clothing, footwear, and personal items as specified in pre-expedition communications
  • You are responsible for your own travel to and from expedition meeting points

Liability and Risk

Outdoor walking activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven terrain, changing weather conditions, and physical exertion. While we take extensive safety precautions, we cannot eliminate all risk.

ash-caribou maintains comprehensive public liability insurance. However, our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for injuries resulting from failure to follow guide instructions
  • We are not liable for personal property loss or damage
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses
  • Total liability for any claim is capped at the amount paid for the expedition

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is owned by ash-caribou or licensed for use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

You may view and print pages for personal reference related to booking our services.

Website Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website or related systems
  • Transmit malicious code or interfere with website functionality
  • Submit false or misleading information in booking forms
  • Use automated systems to scrape or extract website content

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.

Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
